Why does your garlic quote change every week?
Buyers often complain that our quotes move 3-5% per week. Fair question, so here is the short answer: cold-storage stock, sprouting loss and the export inspection queue all move weekly, and garlic is priced off the current week's stock, not the harvest.If you need a fixed price for 60 days, ask for a futures-style offer — most exporters will quote a premium for it.
Useful. We now ask for quotes with an explicit validity window (7, 15 or 30 days) and a note on what index the price tracks. That removed most of the surprises.
