First-time buyers ask us this every week, so let us open a thread.
Our checklist: business licence and export licence numbers, a live video walkthrough of the packing line, one past bill of lading, and a paid sample with the same lot code as the bulk order. If a supplier refuses a live video call, that is usually the end of the conversation.
Add a bank-account check: the beneficiary name on the proforma invoice must match the licence holder. Third-party accounts are the most common red flag. Also ask for the phytosanitary certificate of the last shipment — a supplier who cannot produce one has never actually exported.
