Could someone explain the price gap between light halves and amber halves in practical terms?

Light halves (extra light) command a 15-25% premium because they are sorted for colour, which costs labour and yield. Amber halves taste the same but lose value in retail packing. For industrial use (bakery, paste) amber is the rational buy.
