What is the harvest window for Corn, and how does it affect quality?

We are planning a Corn purchase from Jilin and want to time it with the harvest.

The window is September-October. Inside the window you get the widest grade choice; outside it you are buying stored stock, and for Corn the stored lot usually shows aflatoxin and moisture.
