Is Dried shiitake from Fujian and Hubei in season, and does the season change the price?
We are planning a purchase of Dried shiitake and want to understand the season before fixing a delivery window. The season is dried year-round. Buying inside the harvest window gives you the widest size and grade choice; buying out of it means either cold-store stock or a premium. For Dried shiitake the out-of-season premium is usually 8-15%, and the grade consistency is worse.
