How to read a Chinese agri price index
Short guide: check the sample scope (origin vs national), the grade definition, and whether the index is ex-warehouse or delivered. Two indices with the same name can differ by 10% purely on grade definition.Adding one point: indices lag the spot market by one to two weeks during holidays. Do not treat a flat index as a flat market during Spring Festival.
