Ginger: why the air-dried vs fresh spread is widening
Air-dried ginger is pulling further away from fresh this month. Cause is labour: drying capacity is limited and the drying yards are running at capacity for the export window.Confirmed. The spread is now around 18% for our lots, and drying slots are booked two weeks out. Buyers who can accept fresh with a reefer should take that route this quarter.
